Jason Floyd Lewis is a native to Clarion, Pennsylvania. In ninth grade at Clarion Area High School, his interest in drawing and art began. He credits his art teacher with encouraging, instructing and inspiring him to pursue his interest.  By the time he graduated, Jason had decided to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design, a traditional private art school.  At CCAD, he learned to paint in oils and soon became interested in the landscape genre.  As he began to develop a personal body of work, he realized how important the landscapes of his home in Western PA are to him.  Even while living in Ohio, a large portion of Jason’s work represented places in Pennsylvania.  He continued his studies at Bowling Green State University.  He earned an MFA in drawing from BGSU in 2004.  Since then, Jason has resided in Pennsylvania with his wife, Amanda, whom he met in art school.  His work is represented by several galleries in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Gateway Lodge is showcasing Jason’s paintings and drawings from March through April. Guests are welcome to come in to view the work. All pieces are available for purchase. A special artist’s reception will take place on Friday, April 19th at 6pm. Guests will have an opportunity to meet Jason and his wife, Amanda, and enjoy a wine tasting with light hors d’oeuvres.
